Note: The above vacancies include Freshers and Ex-ITI categories. The notification provides 320 Freshers slots and 670 Ex-ITI slots for the major trades, along with 10 MLT Freshers slots and 10 PASAA Ex-ITI slots. Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu are given preference, and only candidates who are residents of and/or registered with a local Employment Exchange within Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

📚 Educational Qualification: Railway ICF Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Fitter / Electrician / Machinist – Ex-ITI:
Passed Std X with a minimum of 50% marks with Science & Maths under the 10+2 system or equivalent, and possess National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT of one year and above.

Carpenter / Painter / Welder – Ex-ITI:
Passed Std X with a minimum of 50% marks under the 10+2 system or equivalent, and possess National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT of one year and above.

PASAA – Ex-ITI:
Passed Std X with a minimum of 50% marks and possess National Trade Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Database System Assistant or Software Testing Assistant issued by NCVT or SCVT of one year and above.

Fitter / Electrician / Machinist – Freshers: Railway ICF Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Passed Std X with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks with Science & Maths under the 10+2 system or equivalent.

Carpenter / Painter – Freshers:
Passed Std X with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks under the 10+2 system or equivalent.

Welder – Freshers:
Passed Std X with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks under the 10+2 system or equivalent.

MLT – Radiology / Pathology – Freshers:
Passed Std XII examination under the 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Important Note: Candidates possessing higher qualifications than 10th/Matric/SSLC such as Degree, Diploma, Engineering Degree and candidates who have completed Act Apprenticeship are not eligible to apply. This restriction does not apply to MLT candidates, for whom 12th/HSC is the prescribed qualification.

Training Period: Ex-ITI candidates will undergo 1 year of training. Freshers in Fitter, Electrician and Machinist will undergo 2 years; Carpenter and Painter will undergo 2 years; Welder and MLT candidates will undergo 1 year 3 months of training.

💰 Salary Details

Note: During the second year of apprenticeship training, there shall be an increase of 10% in the prescribed minimum stipend amount.

🔹 Age Limit

Age will be reckoned as on 07/09/2026.

📍 Selection Process:

• Merit List based on marks obtained in Std X
• In case of equal marks, older candidate will be preferred
• If date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Std X earlier will be preferred
• Trade allotment for Freshers will be based on merit, trade option and availability of vacancies
• Medical Examination / Document Verification

2. Read the official Act Apprentice notification carefully.
3. Click on the relevant online application link and start registration.
4. Fill in the online application form with accurate personal, educational and other required details.
5. Keep the required documents/certificates and recent passport-size photograph ready. The photograph should not exceed 200 KB and should be in JPG/JPEG format.
6. Pay the applicable processing fee of ₹100/- plus service charges through online mode. SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted from the fee.
7. Submit the application before 07/09/2026 at 05:30 PM.
