CPCL has notified 60 tentative vacancies for Junior Engineering Assistant-IV positions in Production, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines. The vacancy table includes current and backlog vacancies, including reserved PwBD vacancies. The vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the requirements of the Management and reservation directives.
📚 Educational Qualification –
Candidates should possess a 3-year Diploma in Chemical / Petroleum / Petrochemical Engineering / Technology or B.Sc. with Chemistry as a major subject from a recognized Institute / University. Candidates belonging to General / OBC / EWS categories should have a minimum of 60% marks, while SC candidates applying against reserved positions should have 55% marks. Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification work experience in Continuous Process Units of Refining / Chemical / Petrochemical / Fertilizer / Gas Processing Industry is required.
Candidates should possess a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institute / University with a minimum of 60% marks for General / OBC / EWS candidates and 55% for SC / PwBD candidates against reserved positions. Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in maintenance of rotary and stationary equipment in Refinery / Petrochemical / Chemical / Fertilizer / Power Plant / large industrial establishments is required.
Candidates should possess a 3-year Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized Institute / University with a minimum of 60% marks for General / OBC / EWS candidates and 55% for SC / PwBD candidates against reserved positions. Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in maintenance of electrical equipment such as Motors, Transformers, Generators, HT/LT switchgear, UPS, Battery Banks, Battery Chargers and Variable Frequency Drives is required.
Candidates should possess a 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Electronics / Instrumentation & Control / Electronics & Communication from a recognized Institute / University with a minimum of 60% marks for General / OBC / EWS candidates and 55% for SC candidates against reserved positions. Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in process control instrumentation maintenance in Refinery / Petrochemical / Chemical / Fertilizer / large process industrial establishments is required.
Important Qualification Notes:
- Diploma through a recognized lateral entry scheme is also considered subject to the prescribed percentage requirements.
- No claim of equivalent qualification will be accepted.
- Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as B.E. / B.Tech, MBA, C.A, LLB, MCA or equivalent qualifications are not eligible.
- Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, shall be considered as work experience.
- For CPCL01, CPCL02, CPCL03 and CPCL04, work experience is mandatory.

The CBT will be conducted for 120 marks and consists of 50 General Aptitude questions and 70 Discipline Knowledge questions. There will be a negative marking of 1/4 mark for every incorrect answer. The duration of the CBT is 2 hours. Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks, with 5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved positions. Shortlisting for SPPT will generally be in the ratio of 1:3.
